About

A writer and startup crackerjack with a background in journalism and linguistic anthropology, I’m interested in projects at the intersection of storytelling, community building, and technology.

I was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, grew up in Irvine, California, and currently live in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. I consider these places home and have at times been lucky enough to traipse around the countries and cities between them, crashing on couches with abandon. You can usually find me in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, hosting game nights and fort parties, smothering my nails in glitter, and eating everything in sight.

This blog was born here in 2007 to share things with the people I love who are too far away to touch, document my travels, and sometimes harbor indulgent posts where I talk about my feelings and take pictures of myself. I still do that last part

I work at foursquare on the marketing team, pitch in at TrustArt.org, and am the co-founder of Her Girl Friday.
